The Justice GTA 6 score is official. On October 15, Rockstar Games confirmed that the French duo Justice composed the original dynamic score for Grand Theft Auto VI, and dropped the news alongside a new Justice single, “Flower in a Hurricane,” featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The track powers the game’s launch trailer, which arrived the same day, about five weeks before the game lands on November 19.

Justice GTA 6 Score: What Rockstar Announced

Rockstar revealed Justice as the game’s original score composers on its official music hub, describing “Flower in a Hurricane” as a new standalone single. According to EDM.com, the score is built to shift dynamically with gameplay rather than play as a fixed backdrop, and Rockstar frames the wider audio package, which includes radio stations and on demand podcasts, as the next evolution of its in game radio.

This is not the first time Justice has been heard in Leonida. Consequence and We Rave You both report that excerpts of the score already soundtracked key moments of “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look,” the long preview Rockstar released on August 27, as well as the official cover art reveal. Until this week, though, the duo had not been named.

Key facts at a glance:

  • Composer: Justice (Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay), original dynamic score
  • Single: “Flower in a Hurricane” feat. Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, out now
  • Soundtrack: Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, 34 original tracks, out November 19
  • Game release: November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S

Inside “Flower in a Hurricane”

The single is a glossy, eighties flavored synth rock record. Kevin Parker of Tame Impala and SZA share the lead vocal in harmony for most of the song, while Stereogum’s Tom Breihan suspects King Gizzard supplied the organ and guitar parts, a contribution that has not been spelled out officially. Both Stereogum and MusicRadar heard a nod to the opening riff of Dire Straits’ “Money for Nothing.” Consequence notes that the lyric mirrors the outlaw love story of the game’s two leads, Jason and Lucia.

The pairing with Parker is a proven one. Justice and Tame Impala previously teamed up on “Neverender,” the 2024 single from the duo’s album Hyperdrama that went on to earn a Grammy. The song also lands on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which fans can presave now and preorder on vinyl and CD.

A French Touch Thread Through the Soundtrack

Rockstar has so far revealed nine singles from the 34 track album, a list that runs from Travis Scott, Cardi B and Morgan Wallen to Yung Lean, Rauw Alejandro, Fuerza Regida and Keith Richards. For dance music fans, the most interesting credit outside Justice is “Sexy Magic,” a collaboration between CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and French touch veteran Etienne de Crécy.

One point is still unclear. EDM.com reports that the soundtrack also includes music from Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, formerly of Daft Punk, but his name does not appear in the singles Rockstar has published, and Rockstar has not confirmed his involvement on its own channels. Until the full tracklist is out, treat that one as reported rather than confirmed.

Radio Stations: Robyn, Burna Boy and More

The score sits alongside what Rockstar bills as its biggest and most wide ranging selection of radio and podcasts yet. Of the six stations revealed so far, two will matter most to club audiences: Flash FM, the long running Vice City pop station, now hosted by Robyn, and Afro Bank FM, which covers amapiano, African classics and 3 step with Burna Boy among its hosts. NME reports that Bad Bunny and Lana Del Rey are also hosting stations, and that the game will offer on demand podcasts for the first time in the series.

Why It Matters for Electronic Music

Grand Theft Auto soundtracks have long worked as a discovery engine, introducing whole generations of players to artists through radio stations they drive past for hours. Handing the original score, not just a licensed slot, to an electronic act puts dance music production at the center of the most anticipated entertainment release of the year. For Justice it caps a run that began nearly two decades ago on Ed Banger Records with “Waters of Nazareth” and “D.A.N.C.E.,” and continued through Hyperdrama, a Coachella closing set and a US arena tour. The Ed Banger roots run deep in this story: label mate Mr. Oizo has his own history of electronic music breaking out through mass media, as we explored in our piece on how “Flat Beat” went from a Levi’s ad to the charts.

It also continues a French electronic crossover streak that has stayed visible this year, from Etienne de Crécy’s soundtrack credit to the authorized Daft Punk comic book special from Métal Hurlant.

Fan Reaction

The launch trailer spread fast. GamesRadar+ reported that it passed one million YouTube views in roughly half an hour, while cautioning that the platform’s counters were struggling with the traffic. LibertyCity counted around 4.5 million views about five hours after release, with likes far outnumbering dislikes. GamesRadar+ quoted one top comment that summed up the mood: “I thought I would never live this moment.” Music critics were won over too. Stereogum’s Breihan wrote simply, “they got me.”

What Happens Next

Rockstar says more details on Justice’s full original score album will follow, without giving a date. Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album arrives on November 19 to coincide with the game, and the full tracklist, including any Daft Punk connection, should become clear by then. The official music hub on Rockstar Games carries the radio lineup and preorder links.

For Justice, it is the biggest stage of a career built on crossing over. “Flower in a Hurricane” is the first proper look at what they made for it, and the rest arrives with the game in five weeks.
