Skrillex and Solomun Release Rumpta Days Before Their Pacha Ibiza B2B

The wait for Rumpta is over. Skrillex and Solomun released their first official collaboration single on Wednesday, July 1, closing a full year of speculation that began when the unreleased demo started surfacing in their live sets. The track is out through Diynamic, the label Solomun has run since 2006.

The timing is no accident. On Sunday, July 5, Skrillex joins Solomun in the booth at Pacha Ibiza for Solomun +1, the residency that has anchored the club’s Sunday nights since 2013. The single lands as a calling card for that back to back set, and as confirmation that one of dance music’s most unlikely studio pairings actually works.

How Rumpta Went From Festival ID to Diynamic Release

According to EDM.com, which cites reporting from Beatportal, the original demo went through several versions and traces back to Tomorrowland in 2025. From there it moved into regular rotation: Solomun’s special show at Tehmplo Tulum, his sold out nights at Alexandra Palace in London, and his May set at EDC Las Vegas, which he opened with the track.

That slow rollout did what a year of teasing usually does. Fans filmed the ID, tracklist databases logged every play, and each appearance raised the same question about when a finished version would finally land. Rave Quarters reports the track steadily built anticipation across both artists’ crowds long before a release date was ever public.

What the Track Sounds Like

Rumpta is a soulful house record with vocals that nod to classic house. EDM.com describes warm, rolling basslines threaded with flickers of the glitchy sound design Skrillex has favored for years. Rave Quarters hears a peak time tool built around a groove that locks in as the beat drops, pushing the tempo without breaking the flow. On paper the two catalogs barely overlap. On record, the split is clean: Solomun brings the patience and the swing, Skrillex brings the detail work.

The Two Names Behind the Track

Skrillex

Sonny Moore has spent fifteen years turning left whenever the market expected him to go straight, from the dubstep era that made him a global name to the UK club influenced sound of his 2023 albums Quest for Fire and Don’t Get Too Close. He holds nine Grammy wins, the most recent for Rumble, his Best Dance/Electronic Recording winner alongside Fred again.. and Flowdan. Ibiza has rarely been part of his touring map in recent years, which makes the Pacha booking one of the more surprising entries on his 2026 calendar.

Solomun

Mladen Solomun built his reputation the long way: Diynamic releases, marathon club sets and a melodic, emotional take on house and techno that turned him into one of the most booked selectors in the world. Born in Bosnia and raised in Hamburg, he founded Diynamic in 2006 and grew Solomun +1 into one of Ibiza’s longest running residencies. His recent run shows how wide his lane has become, stretching from Tulum and London to a main stage slot at EDC Las Vegas.

Solomun +1 at Pacha Ibiza on July 5

The +1 format is simple: Solomun invites one guest, they split the night and usually end up back to back. Skrillex first appeared on the residency in 2025, and Rave Quarters called that b2b one of the most exciting sets of the season. The 2026 guest list puts the new single in heavy company, with Jamie xx, Peggy Gou and Anyma all booked this summer according to The Groove Cartel, and actor Idris Elba joining Solomun in the booth in late June.

Expect Rumpta to be the record of the night on Sunday. A brand new collaboration, released the same week, played by both of its producers at the club where their partnership first clicked: Ibiza seasons tend to be remembered by moments like that.

Where to Listen

Rumpta is out now on Diynamic and hit DJ stores first, appearing on Beatport and Traxsource on release day. Coverage of the wider rollout initially disagreed: EDM.com noted at publication that the single had not yet reached Spotify and Apple Music, while Rave Quarters pointed later the same day to the official smart link listing all major streaming platforms. The official audio is up on YouTube, so nobody has to hunt down festival recordings anymore.

What Happens Next

The immediate answer is July 5 at Pacha. Beyond that, neither artist has announced further joint material, and there is no confirmed word on a follow up single or a larger project. The release still says plenty about where house music sits in 2026: big crossover collaborations keep arriving, and a summer that has already delivered HUGEL’s debut album Twenty One now has its biggest odd couple record yet.
