Eric Prydz Steps In for John Summit at Creamfields 2026

Eric Prydz Creamfields 2026 Apex stage booking

Eric Prydz will play Friday night inside the Apex arena at Creamfields 2026, stepping into the slot John Summit gave up earlier this month. The Eric Prydz Creamfields booking is now published on the festival’s official lineup page, where the Swedish producer is billed as a “very special guest” on August 28 alongside FISHER.

Creamfields runs from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30 at the Daresbury Estate in Cheshire, marking 20 years of the festival at that site. EDM.com reports that tickets are sold out.

What Creamfields confirmed about the Eric Prydz Creamfields slot

Prydz appears on the Friday schedule for Apex with Capital Dance under a “very special guest” billing, on a stage list that also holds FISHER, Rossi., Syreeta and Gareth Wyn. No further detail has been attached to the booking.

The rest of Friday is dense. Disclosure bring their live show to the Arc stage with Chris Stassy and Chloé Caillet, while Carl Cox headlines HALO presented by SHEIN and I Hate Models closes out the Teletech takeover on Steel Yard. Set times are running through the official Creamfields app, and anyone holding a Friday day ticket should watch the festival channels for further changes.

Why John Summit is not playing

Summit announced on August 17 that he was cancelling four European festival dates: Pukkelpop in Belgium on August 21, BBC Radio 1 Dance in Malta on August 22, Creamfields on August 28 and Touquet Beach Fest in France on August 29.

“I rarely ever do this, but there is so much work to do for the tour and I need to recharge my battery a bit before this fall,” Summit wrote in his statement.

The break lands roughly six weeks before his CTRL ESCAPE arena run, which takes its name from his second album. That tour opens on October 1 at the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois, passes through Madison Square Garden and the United Center, and finishes at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. He also headlines his own Experts Only Festival at Randall’s Island in New York on September 19 and 20.

Apex is the biggest indoor room on the UK festival circuit

Creamfields bills Apex with Capital Dance as the largest indoor festival main stage superstructure in the world. The arena debuted at the 2024 edition, holds roughly 30,000 people and runs later than the outdoor stages. Reports put daily attendance across the Daresbury site at 70,000 to 80,000.

That scale is the point. Prydz has built his reputation on shows that need height, depth and darkness: lasers, projection and volumetric visuals that do not survive a sunlit field. Apex is one of very few festival spaces in Britain that can hang production of that size indoors.

Nobody knows which version of Prydz is coming

Prydz runs several distinct live identities: the HOLO hologram production, the EPIC show, straight DJ sets under his own name, and the darker Pryda alias. Creamfields has not said which one travels to Daresbury this week, and the billing gives nothing away.

Accounts of his Creamfields history also differ. EDM.com described Friday as his first appearance at the festival since he debuted HOLO there in 2022, while We Rave You and EDMTunes both report that he returned in 2024 under the Pryda alias. Creamfields has not addressed the discrepancy publicly.

Prydz is sitting on a stack of unreleased music

In May, Prydz confirmed a run of six new Pryda EPs, each built around two tracks, starting with “Mygga” and “Modulation”. He announced the format on X after polling fans on how the material should be packaged, writing “3 albums.. ? Na. One EP” before naming the two titles.

No release dates have been announced for any of them. His last Pryda single was “The Return / Of Me” in 2023. Earlier this year he also brought back his EPIC Radio show after six years away.

Last week he announced a North American tour of 12 dates, opening in Miami on October 30 and closing in Chicago on December 5, with San Francisco, Dallas, Mexico City, Washington, Atlanta and Boston in between. He captioned the announcement “IDs incoming”, which reads as a promise that unreleased material is coming with him. EDM.com has also reported that Steve Angello teased a long rumoured collaboration between the two Swedes, a track fans have taken to calling “Bedtime Stories”. That one remains unconfirmed as an official release.

The rest of the Creamfields 2026 weekend

Friday is only the opening night of the main weekend. Calvin Harris headlines Arc on Saturday, with Alesso, Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren spread across Apex the same night and Amelie Lens presenting AURA on Steel Yard alongside CamelPhat, Dom Dolla, Eli Brown, Kettama and Pete Tong.

Sunday hands Apex to Swedish House Mafia, with Tiësto and a Faithless live show on Steel Yard, Fatboy Slim hosting his own stage, and Sonny Fodera, Becky Hill and Armand van Helden closing Arc. The full running order sits on the official Creamfields lineup page.

What it means for Friday

Creamfields replaces a headline draw with an artist who sells out arenas on his own terms, Summit gets the reset he asked for, and a room built for 30,000 people gets a producer who has spent his career designing shows for exactly that scale. Whether Friday turns into a HOLO revival, a Pryda set or something nobody has seen yet will only be clear once the lights go down at Daresbury.
