Amelie Lens AURA now has a release date, a full tracklist and a firm arrival time for its most talked about song. run, the Belgian techno artist’s collaboration with pop star Angèle, lands on Friday, August 7. It is the only guest appearance across the eleven track debut album, which follows on September 4 via her own EXHALE Records. For an artist who has built a decade of work almost entirely on her own productions and her own voice, handing one track to somebody else is the loudest statement on the record.
Amelie Lens AURA: A Debut Album Ten Years in the Making
AURA is Lens’ first proper full length. It runs to eleven tracks, arrives digitally and as a gatefold double vinyl pressed in blue and white, and lands almost exactly ten years after she introduced herself in 2016 with a track called Exhale, the same word that later became her label and her party series.
Lens has described the record as the culmination of that decade rather than a side project squeezed between tours. “This is the most honest version of myself I’ve ever shared,” she told Resident Advisor when the album was announced. “From playing tiny local clubs and driving myself through the night for gigs, to standing on huge festival stages, becoming a mother, building EXHALE and learning how to balance it all in life.”

Two singles are already out. our frequency opened the campaign in May, built on Lens’ own vocals, and whatever you do followed as the album’s closing track.
Inside ‘run’, the Only Collaboration on the Record
The pairing was not kept secret for long. Angèle walked out during Lens’ set at Dour Festival in July and the two aired the track in front of a Belgian crowd before either had confirmed it existed. Footage spread quickly, largely because the combination reads so strangely on paper: one of Europe’s hardest touring techno DJs and one of Belgium’s biggest pop exports on the same record.
Musically it stays on Lens’ side of the line. Rapid fire percussion, acid leaning bass and sci fi synth textures carry the arrangement, with Angèle’s whispered, almost weightless vocal sitting on top rather than softening anything underneath.
Lens has been direct about why there is only one feature. “Angèle’s voice was the only one I could imagine on this track. I have been such a fan of hers for so long, I think she’s a truly special talent and that’s why she’s the only other artist and only collab on my whole album,” she said in comments reported by We Rave You.
Angèle traced the connection back to Belgian friendship circles and to seeing Lens play Glastonbury. “I got goosebumps straight away. When she called to ask if I’d be on a track from her first album, I heard the track and didn’t even have to think about it. I admire her so much, both as an artist and as a woman. I’m really happy we finally got to make something together,” she said.
One detail worth flagging: Resident Advisor and DJ Mag both list AURA as an EXHALE Records release, while We Rave You reports run arriving via Sony Music. The most likely explanation is a major label distribution deal sitting behind the imprint, but neither Lens nor EXHALE has published a statement clarifying the arrangement, so treat the label credit as unconfirmed for now.
A Record Written Between Tours and Motherhood
The album has also been shaped by a period of significant change. Lens and her partner Farrago welcomed their daughter Kiki in December 2023, and in late June Lens announced on Instagram that she is expecting a second daughter this winter. She has been unusually open about the logistics of touring while pregnant, a subject that still carries stigma in nightlife.
Speaking to DJ Mag at Tomorrowland, she said she hopes run will be the first song her daughter hears when she is born later this year. It is a small line, but it explains the register of the album better than any press release: this is techno written by somebody who is no longer separating the studio from the rest of her life.
The AURA Live Show and the Antwerp Album Launch
AURA is not only a record. Lens has spent the summer touring a live production of the same name, an immersive show built around light, movement and the album’s material, taking it to Sónar, Dour, Paléo Festival, Tomorrowland, HARD Summer and Creamfields. The album gets its own launch the day after release. On Saturday, September 5, Lens will play a three hour set at an open air event in the gardens of Antwerp’s Royal Museum of Fine Arts, a 14,000 capacity production staged with the City of Antwerp and the first of its kind at the neoclassical venue. Doors run from 2pm to 11pm and tickets are priced between €39 and €59. The supporting lineup has not been announced.
Why It Matters
Techno albums rarely travel far outside the genre, and techno artists rarely need them to. Lens sat at number 38 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll for 2025 and runs two labels, EXHALE and Lenske, without ever having released a full length. AURA is a test of whether the format still adds anything to a career built on club sets and festival stages.
The Angèle feature makes that test sharper. Belgium’s pop mainstream and its techno scene rarely meet in public, and run puts a genuine crossover audience in front of an EXHALE release without diluting the tempo.
