A new EDM festival–themed reality dating show, Wooking For Love, has opened casting ahead of its planned release in late 2026 or early 2027. The 12-episode series is set in Denver, Colorado, and aims to capture the energy of the region’s thriving festival scene and its associated “wook” subculture.

The Concept: 16 Contestants Seeking Connection

Created by Denver tattoo artist LaRue Allegretto, the show will follow 16 Denver-based “wooks” who are searching for love, connection, and their “forever festival partner.” Contestants will live together on a ranch, described as Colorado’s answer to the Love Island villa, while navigating relationships under one roof.

Festival-Inspired Challenges and Activities

According to the show’s website, participants will face “whacky” festival-themed challenges such as car camping competitions, flow art choreography, hula-hooping, and stagehand scrambles. These tasks are designed to reflect the creativity, spontaneity and community spirit of real-life EDM events.

A Broad Definition of “Wook”

Allegretto explains that the show uses “wook” in its widest cultural sense. In this context, a wook is someone deeply involved in festival life, someone who works, plays, and builds community around music, and who prioritizes rich experiences and human connection.

Tone and Audience

The production describes its tone as “playful, cinematic, and deeply human.” It is designed to resonate with the same crowds that gather at Red Rocks, Nova Studios, and late-night renegade events across Colorado. The humor will be self-aware but affectionate, aiming to celebrate the community rather than parody it.

Growing Interest Ahead of Filming

Casting is open to people of all identities, sexual orientations, and relationship styles. According to Allegretto, interest has already taken off, with 675 applications submitted to be part of the show.
