Tomorrowland Confirms Same Mainstage for Weekend Two

After a devastating fire destroyed the original Tomorrowland 2025 main stage just two days before opening weekend, organizers pulled off a near-impossible feat: rebuilding a fully functional replacement using parts borrowed from Metallica’s M72 tour stage. Despite the chaos, the festival opened on time, with a new stage that stunned fans and performers alike.

Confirmed: Same Stage for Weekend Two

Now, Tomorrowland organizers have confirmed that the same main stage design will return for weekend two. Speaking with VRT News, Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilmsen explained that while there may be minor visual tweaks or added props, the overall stage will “look the same” as it did during weekend one.

A New Kind of Energy

Wilmsen reflected on how the stripped-back version of the main stage created a different kind of atmosphere. “I can imagine the DJs loved feeling that energy and love up close,” she said. “Normally, there’s a lot of spectacle with fireworks, fountains, lighting, and so on. This time, the DJ was the star.”

Hints at the Future

Asked whether the more intimate energy might inspire changes to the festival’s future designs, Wilmsen left it open-ended. “Will we incorporate that into our design for next year? I’ll leave that up to the creative director and his team,” she said, suggesting that the unexpected success of the scaled-down setup may influence Tomorrowland’s next chapter.

Highlights From a Historic Weekend

Despite the last-minute stage change, weekend one was filled with unforgettable moments. Fans were treated to an immersive Avicii tribute, Charlotte de Witte made history by opening and closing the festival on the same day, and Darude surprised the crowd by joining Alan Walker on stage. The community’s resilience turned what could have been a disaster into one of the most memorable editions in Tomorrowland history.
