Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk is set to appear as a special guest at Fred again..’s show tonight, February 27, in London. The performance will take place at Alexandra Palace and marks the final stop of Fred again..’s USB002 tour.

Announcement via Instagram

Fred again.. confirmed the news earlier today through Instagram Stories, sharing a photo of himself with Bangalter. “I can’t believe I’m typing this,” he wrote. “There is only one way to end this tour of surreal whirlwind dream casting. And it is with this man. The greatest.”

In a separate post, Fred again.. shared studio footage of the two artists working together. The clip features a blend of Billie (Loving Arms) and Daft Punk’s Digital Love, alongside text stating they had spent the week preparing a one-off show specifically for the occasion.

A Rare Live Appearance

Tonight’s show will mark Thomas Bangalter’s first UK performance in over 18 years. His last appearance in the country was at London’s Hyde Park during Wireless Festival in 2007, when Daft Punk performed as part of their Alive Tour.

Their Second Performance Together

The Alexandra Palace event will also be Bangalter and Fred again..’s second performance together. In October, Bangalter played his first DJ set in 16 years at Because Music’s Beaubourg event at the Pompidou Centre in Paris. The set also marked his first performance without the iconic Daft Punk robot helmet in 24 years. That event featured Fred again.., Ed Banger Records founder Pedro Winter, also known as Busy P, and Erol Alkan.

A Historic Closing Night

Bangalter’s appearance at USB002 adds another milestone to a tour that has featured a number of high-profile collaborations. The final night at Alexandra Palace is set to mark both the conclusion of the tour and Bangalter’s long-awaited return to the UK stage.
