Chris Martinez, one half of the world-renowned DJ duo The Martinez Brothers, is taking a break from touring to focus on his health and wellness. The news was announced on October 15th by his brother and bandmate, Steve Jr. Martinez, through the duo’s official Instagram Stories.
A Decision for Wellbeing
“My brother Chris is choosing to take some time off from touring to focus on his health and wellness,” Steve Jr. wrote. “It’s a move I’m incredibly proud of him for making.” He also confirmed that he would continue to represent The Martinez Brothers solo during the break.
Looking Ahead to 2026
While no timeline has been given for Chris’s return, Steve Jr. emphasized that the decision was made with the future in mind. “The decision is about ensuring we can come back stronger than ever, to make 2026 our best year yet,” he added.
Two Decades at the Top
Hailing from the Bronx, The Martinez Brothers have been touring internationally for nearly 20 years and are considered among the most influential figures in modern house and techno. Known for their high-energy performances and seamless blend of genres, they currently hold a weekly residency at Ibiza’s Hï, one of the island’s most prestigious clubs.
